Family Photo

I like to play around on photoshop between classes, and between homework assignments. Its a nice way to relax and clear my mind. Most of the time I choose a random photo on my computer- and its usually one that I've taken. And every once in a while I like to find pictures I really like on the internet and mess around with color schemes and effects, or try and duplicate the effects some else made as a way to learn more about LAB color mode.

Recently however, I've been editing a lot of photos of my family. Most often I make them into a black and white version for my mom's living room collage. This photo though, I thought was best in color. There are some major differences between the original and the new, edited, version.

In the original Mikey has a goofy smile, and Jeremy is kind of looking off to the side. The colors are muted and a bit dull.

In the edited version, Mikey's smile looks more natural (and less stupid) and Jeremy is looking more towards the camera. The colors, edited using LAB, pop a bit more while still retaining some of the subtle blue tint of the original.
