Here are four versions of the same original photo. All photos have been manipulated with a Gaussian Blur and overlay to make them better portraits. The top-most picture is the the least edited in color. Directly after that is the LAB version. The top-most black and white is a simple monochrome black and white using channel mixer; under that is the LAB version, and my favorite of all four.
