YANKEES.
Actually, I don't really like baseball at all. However, the Yankees are at Tech today and not only am I grateful to the support they are showing my school, I'm sure happy I don't have to go to APSC survey today- which was canceled in honor of the Yankees game. Instead I'm going to go to a chemistry study session in preparation for the test I have Thursday (One of two tests... it's going to be one hell of a day).
But back to the Yankees, not only did they dedicate a lot of money to the school following April 16th, but they have dedicated their time to come here and put on an exhibition match against our team. I didn't even try and get a ticket, but I know a few people who did... and the word on the underground ticket market is they are going for around $200 a piece (however, if you get caught selling one, you get in wicked crazy trouble).
At first I wasn't sure if it was more of a publicity stunt for the team, or if they genuinely cared, but I think they are generally a pretty gracious group of guys. My friend Brittany told me a story about one of her friends, and how they Yankees were very nice and helpful her after 9-11.. I think that more pro-teams should care more about their fan base, and its good to see one who does.
