Coming to an End

The end of the semster is like competing in a triathlon. First there is the studying, hours locked away, nose to the books, surrounded by towering stacks of flash cards and notebook paper. That's the training- just inside looking out at the glorious weather rather then out enjoying it. Then, the first leg- third exams. These aren't all that unusual from the other exams throughout the semster, but their intermingled so ingeniously with lab finals, and so close to the actual finals that they are hard to distinguish. At this point there's still some bounce in your step, and some sleep in your nightly regimen. Things aren't great, but they're still good. Then come those lab finals, and Oh are they tough to get through. Practicals, cumulative material, and it's always expected that you know more than they actually taught you. But in the end, there is the sweet satisfaction that you are done, you never have to do those labs again, and there's no looking back. This is where I'm currently swimming in place. I just finished up my lab finals with the doggy-paddle. I made it to the end, but it was a grueling amount of information to get there... and all within 10 hours I'm in need of a rest. But of course, there's three parts in a triathlon so I'm not quite done. Next week starts that last leg of finals and then the mad dash to the end of the semester is finally over. And lucky me, I have a class over the summer to keep my endurance up!

Happily I have a pretty decent schedule for Fall '09. I didn't get all of the classes I requested but I'll get to take them all eventually. The class I want to take most next semester, Bovine Reproductive Practices, has me on the waiting-list so I'm excited for that. Hopefully they get some more cows so I can participate this year. Not only do I think it would be fabulous to learn, but I think it will give me a real advantage as far as hands on abilities and AI certification for applying to vet. school. (End of junior year is coming s soon! I'm so behind on research hours and veterinary practice, oh and the GRE... I should get on that too. ) I also plan on joining a few clubs next year, and with the living arrangements changing in such a favorable manor, well I just can't wait! Now I just have to get through these finals... I'm off to study more!

I hope you can relax a bit and just sail thru it all. I know how hard you work and what you have earned and deserve! I hope your professors do as well. I love you so much. Big hugs and smooches.
Don't let the little stuff like "Coggin's disease..lol..get to you...it will distract you from the rest. Simply explain EIA and the Coggins TEST and you will be fine. : )
Mommy loves you!!!
See you soon.

--I never did understand that when I was in college a long, long time ago!
What's this about the living arrangements? Shoot me a message when you are all done studying and have recovered. I can expect that sometime in June, right? ;o)
